Installation

Install Gaze Keeper from the Chrome Web Store (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera…) or from Firefox Add-ons (desktop and Android). You can pin its icon to the toolbar for quick access.

During installation, your browser asks you to grant access to all sites: this is required for network blocking and page analysis to work (see privacy) — without it, the extension can’t function.

First launch

A welcome page opens automatically: it confirms that network protection and URL analysis are already active, with nothing to configure, and offers a direct link to the extension’s settings. The interface is available in French, English and Spanish, chosen automatically based on your browser’s language (falling back to English if it isn’t supported).

Private browsing

By default, Gaze Keeper does not protect private browsing windows: this is a deliberate browser restriction that no extension can lift on its own. The welcome page offers a button to turn it on:

Chrome, Edge, Brave: the button opens the extension’s card directly; turn on “Allow in private browsing” (or the equivalent for your browser).
Firefox (desktop): type “about:addons” in the address bar, open Gaze Keeper, then turn on “Run in Private Windows”.
Firefox (Android): open the ⋮ menu, tap “Add-ons”, open Gaze Keeper, then turn on “Run in Private Windows”.
