Why Easy Worship?

This extension was inspired by a dream: to see as many people as possible praise God with joy and gratitude.

Depending on the culture, playing a musical instrument can sometimes feel out of reach, reserved for a select few. Yet the Bible invites us to celebrate God with every means available:

Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skilfully, and shout for joy!

Psalm 33:2-3

Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet! Praise him with the harp and lyre! Praise him with tambourine and dancing! Praise him with strings and flute! Praise him with resounding cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!

Easy Worship aims to make it easier for anyone to take part in musical worship, whatever their level of musical skill. This extension can be useful for:

• Anyone learning to play a musical instrument out of a desire to praise God
• Beginner musicians wanting to learn the lyrics and chords of worship songs
• Musicians playing in a worship team
• Worship leaders

Features

Easy Worship makes the lyrics and chords on worship-song sites more readable and easier to learn, directly on the sites you already use. The extension adds the display settings they’re missing, without ever changing the song on the original site and without creating an account:

• 🎨 Colour for chords and structure markers (verse, chorus...) — 7 colours to choose from
• 🙈 Hiding secondary chords (e.g. F/A → F) to focus on the main chord
• ✂️ Simplifying chords (removing numbers and “sus”) for beginner musicians
• 🔢 Removing duplicate verse numbers, when the site already shows them via a structure title
• 🎹 Automatic display of chord diagrams (piano, guitar, ukulele, bass) used in the displayed song
• 🖨️ Downloading the song (title + chords + lyrics) as an A4 sheet, ready to print, as a PNG image or PDF
• ✋ Draggable floating button, which keeps its position from one song to the next and from one device to the next
• 🌗 Light, dark or automatic theme (follows your browser/OS preferences)
• 🔄 Settings synced across your devices via your Chrome account

Privacy:

No personal data is collected, transmitted or sold: the extension makes no network calls and loads no remote script, everything runs locally in your browser. The only permission requested, storage, is used solely to save your display preferences.
